In the role of Desktop Engineer you’ll predominantly be based at Huddersfield Waterfront Centre, with the ability to travel to any College location and your focus will be on  providing support to business support and curriculum staff throughout the college on key IT systems, hardware and infrastructure

 

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Diagnosing and repairing faults.
  • Installing and configuring hardware and software.
  • Communicating to customers to offer efficient, quality support.
  • Providing timely responses and accurate customer feedback.
  • Supporting the testing and roll-out of new applications, configuration changes, or technologies.
  • Creating/updating documentation (How to guides, procedures, etc).

 

Ideally, you’ll have a minimum of a Level 2 qualification in literacry and numeracy (e.g. GCSE English and Maths) (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and a relevant HE degree.  It’s important that you’re able to converse at ease with members of the public, provide advice and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
