In the role of technician you’ll be predominantly based at Springfield and your focus will be on supporting the Motor Vehicle and Multi Skills team to safely deliver sessions in our specialist workshops.

 

Your key responsibilities will be to demonstrate your broad knowledge and experience to ensure the safe running of the workshops and associated machinery, follow the health and safety rules, regulations and reporting using the correct systems and support the team to deliver practical sessions in a Motor Vehicle garage and Multi Skills workshop. Being able to work with young people and having some knowledge around SEND/SEMH needs would be desirable in order to fully support young people to access their practical activities in a safe manner.

 

Ideally, you’ll have a relevant Level 3 qualification in the subject area and Maths & English at Level 2 (or be able to prove equivalent ability). It’s important that you’re able to show an understanding of students who have SEND/SEMH needs and we encourage all staff to have a trauma informed approach when working with young people in this area.
