In the role of Job Coach, you’ll predominantly be based at Waterfront and your focus will be to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities to access an internal work placement and progress into paid employment. Your key responsibilities will be to support young people with learning difficulties and disabilities to develop job search skills and other work-related skills as required-

 

  • To actively support learners within their work placements by providing on the job coaching and systematic instruction according to individual need
  • To continually assess the progress of learners both formally and informally to contribute to their personalised employability plan, recording both development and distance travelled.
  • To provide support and guidance to ensure that learners are successful after they have entered paid employment.
  • To work closely with the Work Placement Co-ordinator to identify and secure potential opportunities for learners on the Pre-supported Internship Programme and on other programmes in Foundation Learning
  • To maintain accurate records of support provided
  • To develop partnerships with local organisations.

 

 

 

 

 

Ideally, you’ll have a level 2 qualification in supporting learners with additional needs (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in working with young people with SEND. It’s important that you’re able to work with students with high needs and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
