Salary:

£24,550 - £24,850 (pro rata)

 

Location:

Huddersfield & Dewsbury (all LRC sites)

 

Hours and Weeks per Year:

15 - 29.5 hours / 36 weeks

In the role of LRC Advisor you’ll be based at Huddersfield and Dewsbury, and your focus will be on supporting the development and delivery of our services to enhance the student experience across all our sites.

 

Your key responsibilities as an active member of the LRC team will be delivering excellent customer service and front-line support to students, staff and stakeholders in accessing a variety of resources in numerous formats to assist them in their work, and also provide support to academic staff in order to develop resource collections for teaching and learning.  You will also be focused on maintaining an appropriate learning environment that supports study, promoting the importance of research, literacy, digital literacy and, mental health and well-being.     

 

Ideally, you’ll have experience in a customer service, library, I.T. or an educational setting (or be able to prove equivalent skills) and demonstrate the ability to react positively to change in this quickly developing sector.   It is important that LRC Advisors are able to communicate and engage effectively with learners with wide ranging needs and potential barriers to learning.  You will be expected to formulate effective partnerships with College tutors, other support providers/teams, feeder schools and external agencies, and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.

 

A number of roles are currently available ranging from 15 to 37 working hours per week.  This position is suitable as a job share and is a term-time only based role.  We encourage candidates with professional experience in related industries such as retail, publishing, events planning and the Arts, or with additional skills which could enhance our offer.

Term time only staff who start mid Academic year will have their initial salary payments calculated based on actual weeks worked and the number of pay dates between the beginning of employment and the end of the current academic year.
