In the role of Payroll Officer, you’ll predominantly be based at the Huddersfield Centre and your focus will be on providing administrative support to the College Payroll function.
Your core responsibilities will include providing administrative support and guidance for the College’s Payroll function, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payments to staff and external agencies, and maintaining accurate payroll records. Duties will include collating and verifying payroll data, handling pay and expense claims, preparing payslips and ensuring compliance with organisational and statutory requirements. Additionally, you will collaborate with colleagues across the business, proactively identifying service improvements and supporting in annual audits.
Ideally, you’ll have a Level 2 in Maths and English, a Level 4 in Accountancy, Payroll or equivalent (or be able to prove equivalent ability) and demonstrable experience in HR and/or Payroll in a large organisation. It’s important that you’re able to work autonomously; to engage and communicate effectively with a wide range of people; to exercise discretion and confidentiality and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
