Hours and Weeks per Year:

22.2 hours / 38 weeks per year

The role of a Personal and Academic Development Coach is centred on supporting students to achieve both academic success and personal growth. This involves delivering tailored support through one-to-one sessions and group workshops, helping students develop essential academic skills such as study techniques, exam preparation, and organisation. The Personal and Academic Development Coach will also mentor students to support with their health and well being whilst on programme. The role also focuses on providing holistic guidance, ensuring students receive appropriate information, advice, and guidance (IAG) to support their progression into further education or employment.

 

In addition, the Personal and Academic Development coach plays a key role in monitoring student progress, attendance, and overall wellbeing, identifying and addressing any barriers that may impact success. By working closely with students and external support services, the coach helps individuals build confidence, resilience, and employability skills. The role requires a strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, and continuous professional development, ensuring that all students are supported in a safe, inclusive, and motivating learning environment.

Term time only staff who start mid year will have their initial salary payments calculated based on actual weeks worked and the number of pay dates between the beginning of employment and the end of the academic year.
