At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors.

We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!
In the role of Green Lead, you will be at the forefront of driving climate and environmental ambition across Kirklees College. This is a new and exciting opportunity to shape how sustainability is embedded across our culture, curriculum and operations, working across all College campuses to turn ambition into meaningful action.
You will provide strategic and operational leadership for the College’s climate and environmental priorities, bringing together colleagues from curriculum, estates and professional services to create a shared sense of ownership and purpose. Acting as a connector and influencer, you will enable others to become changemakers, supporting teams to embed environmental responsibility into their everyday practice.
Your focus will be on translating environmental data, policy and activity into clear priorities, impactful actions and measurable progress. You will lead on planning, monitoring and reporting, ensuring that environmental improvement is embedded within quality processes and contributes to the wider student experience.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact, shaping systems, influencing culture and helping the College play its part in addressing one of the biggest challenges of our time. You will build momentum, champion innovation and help create a future focused organisation where sustainability is everyone’s responsibility.
Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We believe learning is not just for our students: it’s an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You’ll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.
We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
