At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors.
Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you’ll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.
We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!
In the role of Early Years Trainer Assessor you’ll predominantly be based at Springfield and your focus will be on supporting Early Years Education students, but the role will include supporting our Adult 19+ students as well; whilst they are on work placement with local employers to ensure that they are developing the required skills qualities and experiences for their role and qualification. You must have knowledge and experience working in the Education and Early Years sector.
Your key responsibilities will include regular assessment, feedback, and support for all students. In addition, the role requires working with curriculum teaching staff to ensure that the placement is meeting the qualification requirements; ensuring all students are prepared for competency observations and qualification assessments as per the awarding body specifications.
Ideally, you’ll have Level 4 or above teaching qualification (or be able to prove equivalent ability) but must have a L3 Assessor qualification as well as demonstrable experience in knowledge within the Education and Early Years subject. Alongside this relevant and current industrial experience of the Early Years Sector is essential. It’s important that you’re able to communicate effectively, engage with young people and stake holders in placement setting and demonstrate our college values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
We believe learning is not just for our students: it’s an important part of working here too. Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You’ll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.
We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.
