In the role of Personal Development Tutor will be working across Multiple locations and your focus will be to deliver the College tutorial Personal Development Programme, through development and facilitation of group sessions with students.

 

Your key responsibilities will be delivering high-quality personal development tutorials through weekly group sessions, supporting an identified caseload of students and monitoring progress, attendance and engagement. You will embed careers education, employability and work readiness into the tutorial programme, support students with work placement preparation and mandatory administration, and help learners develop the personal, social and study skills needed to overcome barriers to learning. The post requires effective collaboration with curriculum teams, pastoral services, SEND, careers and safeguarding staff, delivery of workshops focused on health, wellbeing, equality, inclusion and British Values, contribution to enrichment activity and employer engagement, accurate record keeping, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and the College’s values.

 

Ideally, you’ll have PGCE/ Cert Ed/teaching qualification (willingness to work towards this within 2 years)  and demonstrable experience in working with 14-19-year-old ‘hard to reach’ students, and be able to understand their range of problems, with in an educational setting and demonstrate our College values of Kindness, Unity and Excellence in your role.
