At Kirklees College we are always looking for new talent, and welcome applications from all sectors.

Whether in a teaching & learning role or in one of our specialised Business Support functions, you’ll be involved in nurturing and developing the next generation of construction workers, engineers, health workers and countless others.

We’re already a successful college, but we’re continually striving to be better and do better - be part of our story!

As an Outreach Officer, you will play a key role in raising aspirations and supporting learners across West Yorkshire to make informed decisions about their future education and career pathways. Working as part of the government-funded Uni Connect programme, delivered by Go Higher West Yorkshire, you will help ensure that more young people have access to meaningful information, guidance and opportunities that support progression into higher education.

You will work closely with schools, colleges, learners, parents/carers and higher education partners to plan, deliver and evaluate engaging outreach activities. Acting as the main point of contact for the programme within Kirklees College and your allocated partner institutions, you will build strong relationships, coordinate activity and champion opportunities that inspire learners to achieve their ambitions.

Your focus will be on delivering high-quality outreach activity that has a measurable impact. You will monitor progress against agreed targets, maintain accurate records, evaluate outcomes and contribute to reporting requirements, ensuring that activity is evidence-based and supports the wider aims of the programme.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to make a positive difference to the lives of young people. You will work collaboratively with a wide range of partners across the region, helping learners explore their options, broaden their horizons and develop the confidence to progress into higher education and other positive destinations.

Due to the nature of our work, it’s essential you’re committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.

We believe learning is not just for our students: it’s an important part of working here too.  Staff development opportunities include a mentoring scheme, financial contributions for external qualifications and skills development for current and aspiring managers. You’ll also have access to a range of staff benefits including an employee assistance programme, retail and leisure discounts and reduced Metro travel.

We want people who believe in the value of education, and who can contribute to our culture of supporting and challenging one another.

Closing Date:  9th October 2026
